All my 3D printed parts are currently made from PLA or PETG on a modified Tevo Tarantula printer.
PLA gets soft around 60C or 140F, so PLA flywheel cages are fine with most motors, but could get soft with hot motors in very hot weather. The print quality is better than PETG, so it’s recommended for cosmetic parts like motor covers.
PETG gets soft around 88C or 190F, so flywheel cages are less likely to melt in hot weather. PETG is also less rigid, so the cage will be slightly louder, and it is also a bit stronger, so parts are less likely to break.
Components will be printed in PLA unless specified otherwise.
